Crawford- "Thanks, Reid. Count me in. Would love to reconnect with everyone."

Ogden
- "I would be very interested in something like this -- the timing could be an issue with work, but if we decide soon enough, I could likely work it out."

Phelan
- "Phelan's in"

- Thanks for putting the info together Reid. I like the additional options Chip. I'll have to get the wife to approve my time away but I think you can count me in. Oh, I'll also have to make sure I can get some time off work. I have so few vacation days. Can't wait."

Linge
- "linge is in!!"

- "I get up to see my folks in Lake Geneva (40 minutes south of Milwaukee) every summer so I will be there anyway .... would love to see everyone.... just let me know when .... and if you have never experienced SummerFest, you need to ..... tons of big named bands all in one weekend .... If you decide on the Lake Geneva area .... We could possibly house 3-4 people .... there are also many nice hotels close by including The Abby, Interlaken and Geneva National (the former Playboy Club) .... The course I usually play with my dad is Delevan which is 27 holes .... (3) 9 hole courses and you play 2 of the 3 .... and it is only about $30 to $40 green fees .... "

McArtor-
"Sounds like fun. Thanks for thinking of me. Not sure how many days I can pull together for time off but would be interested in trying to work it out once final dates and options have been decided. Please keep me in the loop so I can get the details and make some decisions. Not a experienced golfer but know how to drive a cart and party, I'll bring the clubs along just for the laugh."

Ryan-
"Good idea. As a fellow Wisconsinite (live in Neenah near Appleton), I can vouch for Summerfest. Good time. I have also played all the Kohler courses (some a few times) when we take clients. Also played The Bull, a Jack Nicklaus course in Sheboygan Falls. Bring your A game they are harder than f--k. They are pricey indeed so if that is a concern, I would recommend some other potentials: Thornberry Creek in Green Bay, Royal St. Patrick near Appleton, Brown County in Green Bay was rated as one of the top 100 public courses in Golf Digest a few years back. There are many places to play. Reid and I live 1 hour or so from all of them. But the Mecca is the Kohler facilities (especially Whistling Straights). You want to golf in Wisconsin, you want to tell people you played there, it¹s an experience. Save your money. Talk you you soon. PS Wisconsin also is the highest consumer of Brandy in N.A. Milwaukee was rated the drunkest city by Forbes. I know, we are very proud of that but with the Packers in the tank what else can we hang onto."

Plannning a summer 07 get together in Wisconsin

Friends- Since I recieved a generally positive response to the email I sent regarding a get together in Wisconsin this summer, I thought I would put together a blog where we can dsicuss our plans.

Below you will find a copy of the information

Summerfest in Milwaukee- The worlds largest music festival
Music, food, and lots of beer. The 2007 schedule of artist is not posted but you can get an idea from looking at the 2006 schedule
http://www.summerfest.com/ June 28-July 8

Golf options
Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run at the American Club in Kohler Wisconsin. The US Senior open will be played here on the July 2-8, 2007. So if you wanted to play one of these courses we would need to shoot for late June. As you might expect from a world class course the greens fees are high $150 for meadow valleys and Irish courses, $200 for the River course, and $300 for the Straits. The other issue is getting on. If you have reservations at one of the American club hotels then you can make a reservation any time. Otherwise it is only 14 days in advance. But given the timing of the Senior Open if you wanted to play one of these courses we should stay at the American club which is pricy ($243-$345 per night). But we might consider staying one night there, playing one of these courses, and the going elsewhere.
